Hello Readers,
This coming Monday is NZ Labour day. This holiday celebrates the quest for an 8 hour work day. We get the day off at school and other people don't have to go to work. In 1840, the carpenter Samuel Parnell refused to work longer than an 8 hour work day. He felt annoyed that working more than 8 hours were too much, and wanted time to do other things.
On labour day on Monday, I'm gonna do things that I want to do, like going to my friends or sleeping, doing things, and more other things.
Hi Kaunteya,
ReplyDeleteYou collected some good information for your post about Labour Day. I like that you mention Samuel Parnell's efforts for an eight-hour work day. Do you think holidays are important for wellbeing then?
