  5.  sellotape

STEPS

  1. go to one of the Designated areas
  2. Raise the anemomoter as high as you can reach
  3. time 15 seconds
  4. count the spins withim 15 seconds
  5. record

Group Investigation.

Groups size: 5
Roles:

  • Timekeeper ( watch)
  • Counter
  • Recorder ( chromebook or refill )
  • Anemometer Manager ( Anemometer)
  • Wind Manager

Instructions:
  • Go to the measuring place and set up your wind gauge.
  • Make sure everyone in your group is ready to start their roles.
  • Record how many times it spins and record it in the table below.
  • Count the number of spins in 15 seconds.
  • Record it on your chart.

FINDINGS

Place name on school grounds                                    Number of Spins in 15 seconds
1.Field1
2.Old J Block site1
3.Grass hill in quad1
4.Tennis Court gate2

  • USING A4 PAPER DRAW YOUR RESULTS ON A GRAPH.
  • TAKE A PICTURE OF THE GRAPH AND UPLOAD IT TO YOUR BLOG
WHICH IS THE WINDEST AREA AND WHY?
WHICH IS THE CALMEST AREA AND WHY?
WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE ON LAND TO BUILD A WINDMILL?

CONCLUSION:

Tennis  is court got the most spins because it is near whole lot of bushes that blow it

Science Lab!

Aim: To learn how to behave in a science Laboratory.

1. Pay attention

2. Act Responsibly Around Dangerous Objects.

3. Don't Run

4. Put bags under your desk

5. No food or drinks in the lab.

6. Do not sniff or taste substances.
  • Test tube - used  for most experiments using liquids. They have a bung that goes in the top.
  • Conical Flask - used for experiments with liquid up to 150 ml. The flask has a rubber bung for the top and the glass is heat proof.
  • Glass Stirring rod - A 20cm glass rod used to stir and mix any liquids together.
  • Test tube tongs - These are used to hold a hot test tube after an experiment.
  • Spatula - For holding very small amounts of chemical powders.
  • Funnel
  • Measuring Cylinder - this is used to measure liquids for experiments. The liquids will be poured into a beaker or test tube once measured out

Decomposition.

Aim: To learn about the rate that different materials decompose.

Materials:

1 banana
2 white paper
3 bread
4 white styrophone
5 air stopper
6 4x science chub
7science chub holder
8 sticky note
9 pen

Steps:

1 get the stuff you need.

2 write the names of the group.

3 put the banana, bread, white paper, white stroyphone,

4 put the science chub in the science chub holder.

5 put the air stopped in the science chub.

6 stick the sticky note on the science chub holder.

7 put it somewhere it can decompose.

Water cycle experiment.

Title: Water cycle experiment.

Purpose: learn how the water cycle works and how plushin conteranates the water.

Materials
  • 1x zip lock plastic Bag’s (A4).
  • Vivid pen.
  • 100 ml of soda water.
  • Blue food coloring.
  • Limiste paper.
  • Baking soda.
  • Double sided type 20 cm.

Procedure
1. Draw a picture of the water cycle on the bag.
2. Open the bag and poor 50 ml of soda water in the bag.
3. Put two drops of blue food coloring in the bag.
4. Put one teaspoon of baking soda in the soda water
5. Put the limiste paper betwen the zip on the bag.
6. Use 20 cm double sided tape to stick it on the window.
Findings:

The Water Cycle
Acid Water Cycle
Does it cycle?
22
Amount of Water
22
Acidity
02

Key: Water and acidity amount: 0 = none
1 = small
2 = large
Coments:
  1. The water cycle did cycle, we had high amounts of water and it did not a lot of acid
  2. The water cycle did cycle, we had high amounts of water and it did have a lot of acid

P.E

Everyone that doesn't have there P.e gear can't play most of the games. But it was still fun. We had do to a lot of writing this Hanumanu but I still had fun. Other people did as well, I think in p.e what I was best at was team work. Because I would help my team all the time well playing games.

Even when others from other teams, if they were confused I would help them.
Like when we played this game called cross-court I did a lot of team work, even tho we lost both games. I still got a good amount of goals and tram work.

P.E Hunamanu

We have been doing really cool things this Hanumanu. We got to play Ki o rani, we got to play dodgeball, we got to play indoor soccer, floor hockey, bench ball , and a lot of other things.

My favourite was dodgeball because I got to throw balls at a lot of people, even though none of them would actually go out, instead they act like nothing just happened.

What I thought I was best was probably indoor soccer because I scored loads of goals for the team, and also I helped some of my teammates to scor aswell.

Looking at visualisation.

Visualisation is when you can visualise something in your head. If you don't know what visualise means or is, it's when you are picturing a scene in your head about anything.

What you should try to understand Visualisation.

Think about What you would see.

Think about What you would smell.

Think about What you would hear.

Think about all of those and visualise it in your head.
It's really helpful for reading because when your reading a story or a chapter book or whatever else you may call them, you can easily picture everything in your head by visualising it.

DLO

I've learnt something new on mathletics called "Adding and

Subtracting " but I used a different strategy that we were suppose to use. So for example "24 + 56 =" what I would do is  take away 4 and 6 from the 20 and the 50 which would = 70 all together. So then I,ll add 6 and 4 together = 10 then adding it all up. 70+10 = 80. Now for a harder example." 367 + 423 =" what I would do is take away 7 from the 367 = 360. Then I would take away 3 from the 423 = 420. So then I would add 420 and 360 together which = 780. Then I would

add the 7 and 3 together which = 10. Then I'll add them all together  "10+780=790" .Its really simple one you get the hand of it.

Another thing I've learnt is "Multiple and Division"
